Tony Drewett of Hightone restorations, pictured here at Silverstone with Francis Galashan, Chairman of Bicester Heritage, was the lucky winner of a full day of testing in Francis’s Historit sponsored GT racing Porsche.
Tony entered the draw held at Bicester Heritage on the occasion of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club’s launch of its new Apprenticeship in Historic Vehicle Restoration and his business card was first out of the hat.
The event attracted around 100 attendees and included restorers, colleges and potential students and the competition was the brainchild of Francis Galashan who is a major supporter of the new apprenticeship along with MG Car Club and McGrath Maserati.
“Tony really enjoyed his day with me in the Porsche” said Francis Galashan, “ and he has asked me to pass on his thanks to FBHVC for making this unforgettable day possible. I’ve taken a strong personal interest in FBHVC’s efforts to ensure the special skills needed to cherish historic vehicles are not lost, so it was my pleasure to host the launch event at Bicester Heritage and to make the Porsche available to further publicise this important initiative”
