Practical Classics magazine’s hunt for the country’s most-loved classic car
Published: 02/08/2016
Car enthusiasts across Britain are nominating their favourite classic car.
Launched in May in the pages of Practical Classics, owners have been making their voices heard. ‘The mix of cars nominated so far is vast’ revealed Editor Danny Hopkins. ‘I can almost hear the rallying cries of a thousand enthusiasts mobilising to get their favourite classics into the top 100!’
The online voting will culminate in an event that will see all top 100 classic cars assembling at Millbrook proving ground for a cover shoot. ‘The spectacle of a-hundred classics on the go in one place will be breathtaking’ added Hopkins.
Last time the survey was run, in 2004, the list was topped by the Morris Minor and was followed by a host of homegrown classics including the Jaguar E-type, MGB and Mini. Will the Moggie remain at number one in 2016? Can such an elderly design be relevant to a burgeoning new generation of classic car fans and hold onto the top spot?
Voting is open – but not for long. Owners can nominate their favourite classic at: www.practicalclassics.co.uk
