Moretonhampstead Motor Museum - Now Open!
Published: 16/07/2020
We have just received news that Mortonhampstead Motor Museum re-opened on the 11 July. They are currently opening 5 days per week, Wednesday to Sunday inclusive, and will open at 11:00 am and close at 4:00 pm.
All visitors will be required to book in advance, preferably by telephone if the visit is fairly imminent, or by email if your proposed visit is more than a week away.
When booking, all visitors will be required to provide their full name, postcode and contact number or email address. This will be retained for a period of 21 days following the visit, after which the Museum will destroy all such data. Although the guidance is vague on the issue of facemasks for visitors, we would recommend their use. We are currently looking into setting up a card payment system, pending the introduction of this, we will still require payment in cash or by cheque with a guarantee card. It would be most helpful if visitors could arrive with the correct payment.

In terms of the visitor experience, they have created a one-way system throughout the Museum and hope visitors will enjoy viewing the 150 exhibits they have on show.

Voted in the Top 10 Classic Destinations 2018, Moretonhampstead Motor Museum is home to a collection of over 135 vintage and classic vehicles, including pre-1920s to the 1990s. Run by local motoring enthusiast Frank Loft, the museum is housed in a newly refurbished bus depot in Moretonhampstead, Devon. The collection is complemented by motoring artefacts and automobilia, and the viewable restoration workshop makes it more than just a museum.
