Join Colin Tebb, Chairman of the Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association (or Essex HMVA for short) in a private, behind the scenes tour of their storage and restoration location affectionately known as 'the Barn' which is not open to the Public.
See and hear the history of some of their members fascinating military vehicles as well as how they continue to keep military history alive in Essex.
The Essex HMVA is a military vehicle and artefacts preservation charity. To help safeguard our members vehicles for future generations, we are fortunate to have a storage barn, hidden away in the Essex countryside. We cannot open it to the public for safety and security reasons, but why not join Colin Tebb, our chairman for a glimpse behind the scenes at the location we know as 'the Barn'.
Without a facility such as this, many of our members would struggle to keep their vehicles roadworthy or would be forced to leave them outside to the ravages of the British weather. If our barn does look a little familiar, you may have seen a glimpse of it on the TV series ‘combat dealers’. Some of our vehicles have been on both film and TV and are stars in their own rights, appearing in Danger UXB, and Fury to name but two. During this video, we will explore some of the vehicles being kept safe for everyone to enjoy. These vehicles are in various stages of storage or restoration or are roadworthy and ready to attend many events throughout the year.
Our long-term aim is to have a facility to be able to open to the public, but for now you can take a look at our hidden treasures.
We are very pleased to be able to support Heritage Open Days this year.
