The Royal Automobile Club 1000 Mile Trial was awarded FIA Heritage Cup for 2015 during the annual FIA Awards dinner which was held in Paris at the famous Lido on the Champs Elysee in Paris. The event which is exclusive to pre-war cars is organised in partnership with HERO events and attracted crews from over ten nationalities with the world’s most iconic cars from the pre-war era. The regularity rally focusses on proper competition mixed with the highest standard of hospitality and venues available in Britain. Handling and Manoevrability tests are held in unique British stately homes across the country.
The award was collected by Peter Read, Chairman of the Motoring Committee of the Club together with Tom Purves the Club’s Chairman, Tomas de Vargas Machuca, Chairman of HERO and Patrick Burke, HERO Managing Director.
The FIA Founding Members Heritage Cup is awarded annually to one of FIA’s Founding Member Clubs in recognition of outstanding effort and achievement in automobile related capacity from a historical perspective.
The Directors of The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs once again extends its congratulations to its member club, HERO and thanks its officials and members for the credit they bring to the UK historic vehicle movement.
