1972 Wings Tour Bus WNO 481 - Workshop Update

Published: 10/12/2021

A great day was had at the workshops  with Paul McCartney's 1972 Wings Tour Bus WNO 481 and the lads in charge of the restoration. The last remaining panels have now been removed from the outer skin and the scale of the work needed is now fully clear.
A van was hired to bring the parts recently purchased, the spotlight, the radiator cap, the interiors lights, the rear lights etc. A big thank you to the Busketeers that found the authentic parts for WNO 481.

A trip to near Clacton wouldn't be complete without a drive along the seafront at Clacton itself stopping off for a cup of tea and a sandwich whilst gazing at the ocean.

It's amazing to think that back in the 1960's BP (before Paul, before living the dream of touring Europe with the biggest rock star in the world) WNO 481 drove up and down this very same seafront route packed with holidaymakers enjoying the sunshine on the open top deck. It's very cool to bring the bus back to its 'home' for the restoration.
