Frost Ltd was established in 1905 in Rochdale, Lancashire, as a general Engineering company but soon becoming specialists in Sheet Metal Working Machinery. Mr Frost died in 1948 and the company was bought by the Wood family and moved to its Crawford street location in 1948.

In the 1980s, the Company was spending time advising customers where to find various types of restoration equipment, partly because of the continued manufacture of the wheeling machine (English Wheel) and partly due to Mike Wood’s contacts from racing Classic Cars. Mike then had an idea to put his knowledge of car restoration into a little sales booklet and so Frost Restoration was born.
