Wide variety for Wigton club's Cumbria DiD meet

FBHVC member, the Wigton Motor Club, hosted the Cumbria meet of Drive It Day (DiD) on Sunday 21 April, when 250 cars met at Dalemain for an informal gathering. Most were from the county, but the furthest travelled was from Retford, Nottinghamshire.
Drive It Day marks the start of the classic car events season and there were lots of interesting cars on displays, Bentleys, Aston Martins, Alvis and a very rare Chevron B1 of which there are only two in existence.
Drive it Day is all about charities and this year the event was in aid of the WMC’s nominated charities for 2024, the Jigsaw Children’s Hospice and Carers West Cumbria. A total of £1255 was raised, this will be added to through the year and split between the worthy causes in November.
Wigton Motor Club has recently been voted Car Club of the Year by readers of Classic Car Weekly and Practical Classics. It has over a thousand members and promotes a wide range of competitive and social events of all types of cars of all ages.
