Vintage Sports-Car Club keeps storms at bay for a successful Pomeroy Trophy

Published: 23/02/2022

Silverstone - 19th February 2022

Bonkers but brilliant should perhaps be our new tagline. The 66th Pom saw rain, wind and sun, but most important, wide grins and happy competitors, marshals and spectators.
A large entry braved Storm Eunice and were rewarded with an entertaining day’s motorsport bringing together the new and the old. Thanks to the mythical Pom formula pre-war and post-war cars are able to compete on a level playing field taking into account the length of a car, whether it can stow two standard ‘VSCC’ cases, a series of driving tests and a 40 minute time trial where each competitor needs to achieve a set number of target laps.

Complicated? You bet. The car which wins the Pom is always a true all-rounder driven by a great driver, in this case Jason Kennedy in his 1993 Nissan Skyline GTR.

Results for the event can be found on the VSCC website.
