Vehicles for Ukraine - Support Ukrainian People Protecting the Borders of Europe

Published: 25/11/2022

Dear Members of FIVA & the historic vehicle community,

With highest respect I am addressing you today not only on behalf of the Ukrainian  Automobile Club (UAC) as the ANF of FIVA in Ukraine, but also on behalf of all
Ukrainian people and historic vehicle enthusiasts, many of whom are now at the
war front, fighting for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and
protecting the borders of Europe.

As you may know our country is currently going through an active stage of war with
Russia, and each of the Ukrainians is doing everything they can to assist the Armed
Forces of Ukraine. This battle is especially important for UAC. After all, only after
victory is achieved, a complete return of the culture of historic vehicles is possible!
Only after victory will we be able to freely organize massive events, festivals, rallies and other fun activities with historic vehicles which we love so much and to which we would gladly like to invite you to join.

Many of our colleagues - participants of the UAC are trying their hardest to make that victory closer both by serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces and by collecting and delivering all the necessary humanitarian aid to the fronts and to the temporarily occupied territories.

Crucial contributions to the victory are constantly coming to us from the international community. As it had been done by our colleagues from FKHV ?R – Federace klub? historických vozidel ?eské republiky z.s., (the Czech Republic ANF), who at the very beginning of the war sent us financial aid to purchase necessary equipment for the war zone. And we are truly grateful to them for that act of sincere help!!!

In view of the ongoing war and also the hardships the coming winter will bring, while the long-awaited peace is not in sight yet, we would like to propose you to take part in a charity project in support of the Ukrainian people and their defenders!

Since the beginning of the war, there is a big need of many extra second-hand and multifunctional vehicles: four-wheel drives, buses, pickups, jeeps, ambulances and so on. Such vehicles are indispensable to transport people and goods and so to bring relief wherever this is possible and necessary. Help us to find such vehicles in Europe or to raise funds for their purchase!

Yes, we know FIVA is an organization that has the goal to preserve historic vehicles, and such is our goal as well. But unfortunately, UAC now has to work for a higher goal, the survival of our country and with that the freedom of the whole of Europe. That justifies that we now are looking for vehicles that can be used for this goal. And since FIVA unites thousands of car enthusiasts we are sure that with the network of many dozens of National and Professional Members, we can find several of such vehicles to send them directly or raise funds for their purchase.

Above is an example of a suitable vehicle that the Ukrainian Automobile Club has already sent to the war zone. We will ensure any vehicles we deliver or purchase with the funds raised will be directed to the areas where our courageous historic vehicle friends serve. Your assistance may save hundreds of lives!

Truly hoping for your support. Any offer of help will be highly appreciated! If you have any comments or questions - please send them all at the UAC official e-mail address – uac.retro@gmail.com

Highest Regards,
UAC President Anatolii Shumskyi
