Tree-V Announces our Tree Planting Site
Published: 08/02/2022
On 15th December 2021 the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, working in partnership with Tree-V, announced a carbon balancing scheme for historic vehicles.
The scheme offers individuals, clubs and those organising events within the historic vehicle community a quick and convenient way to carbon balance their emissions thanks to the planting of new woodland here in the UK. The site named Tom’s Wood, is situated on the outskirts of Howardian Hills in North Yorkshire and has and will continue to be planted using native species, such as Alder, Birch, Wild Cherry, Goat Willow and Sycamore to best contribute to the local ecosystem.
To date our initiative has been extremely popular with many vehicles’ carbon being balanced every single day! The Federation advance funded the planting of 1,000 trees to coincide with National Tree Week in late November, and since then our planting partner Forest Carbon has provided us with photographs of our trees.
We thought you may wish to see them.
To find out more and see the wonderful images of the trees your funds have so far helped to plant, please take a moment to visit https://trees.fbhvc.co.uk/
Let’s all continue to capture our carbon and plant more trees to assist the environment.
