The Heritage Alliance Receives Resilience Funding

The Heritage Alliance, the umbrella body for the heritage sector in England, has been awarded a two year resilient heritage grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. We are delighted to receive this crucial funding with thanks to National Lottery players.

‘Resilient Heritage Alliance’ will be a transformational project aiming to move the organisation to a more sustainable footing ensuring that we can continue to advocate for and support our more than 7 million members, staff and volunteers in heritage every year, in one of the most challenging political periods and into the future.
This project is about enabling growth and skills development not just for one charity, but for the 130+ current member organisations, their audiences and beneficiaries. It will also serve our wider network of stakeholders including the future organisations who will join our membership during the lifetime of this project, our c.20,000 social media followers and 15,000 Heritage Update readers.

This resilience project seeks a combination of staffing, professional expertise and training to strengthen the potency of the Alliance and enable it to respond with greater agility to the needs of its Member organisations. The welcome investment in the Alliance will transform its internal capacity, build up operational resilience and improve the sustainability of its services.

An extensive review of our core business and current capacity has identified three specific areas of support that this project will address: 1. Capacity for growth - The project will add significant capacity to our team and therefore our members through two new posts within our organisation, which are being advertised today. 2. Expertise for Growth through specialist expertise in membership and business to business marketing, new service development, business planning, fundraising and income generation, and 3. Skills for Growth through skill-building for staff and trustees.
