British, German, French and Japanese classics amongst the varied vehicles on offer for Letchworth Motor Auctions’ next sale for Classic, Retro and Performance cars on Saturday 4 March.

Anyone looking for a characterful British classic will certainly be tempted by the 1932 Morris Oxford Sports Coupe. Estimated at £9500-£13,500, this previous show winner has been off the road since 2016 but benefits from an engine rebuild.

Sure to attract plenty of interest is a 1966 Morris Minor Traveller restoration project that is ready to be finished and carries an estimate of £500-£1000. Meanwhile, the award-winning 1961 MGA 1600 is in outstanding condition and features numerous upgrades - it is estimated at £20,000-£25,000.

There’s much more performance on offer from the 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth. There’s just one owner from new and an extensive history file that includes an upgraded engine fitted by specialist, Graham Goode. It is estimated at a tempting £40,000-£45,000.

Also featuring in the sale is a pair of hot hatchbacks including a 1989 VW Golf GTI estimated at £4000-£6000. Having covered 183,000 miles it has benefitted from £7000 of expenditure since 2018. More affordable is the one-owner-from-new 1997 VW Golf GTI that has an MOT until 2024 and carries an estimate of £1000-£2000.

Those thinking of summer motoring are sure to be interested in the 1983 Mercedes-Benz 500SL, a car that boasts some light restoration work and full interior re-trim and with a £15,000-£18,000 estimate. The 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL350 lacks a service history and there’s a few faults to address, but this is reflected in the estimate of £4000-£6000.

When it comes to interesting and affordable French classics the 1985 Renault 5GTL certainly fits the bill. Amongst the previous owners is motoring journalist, James Walshe from Practical Classics magazine, and the car has a comprehensive history file. It is estimated at £3500-£4500.

Interesting and somewhat rare in such remarkable condition, the 1989 Mazda 323 GLX estate has covered less than 40,000 miles in the hands of just two owners. An eminently usable classic, the estimate is £2500-£3500.

Managing Director Simon Morgan said: “We are very pleased to offer such a strong variety of classics in our March sale. More than 60 cars will be looking for new owners, and as this selection shows there’s going to be something for every taste and interest.”
