Exciting events scheduled for former Autodrome circuit

Visitors to the Federation Village at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show 2023 may have seen the UTAC stand promoting the Centenary of UTAC Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome Monthléry in 2024.  

The Federation continues to collaborate with UTAC and the following Newsletter is the first in a series describing the exciting events scheduled for the circuit originally known as the Autodrome Parisien and located 19 miles south of Paris over the weekend 12 and 13 October 2024.

The UTAC Linas Montlhéry Autodrome Festival du Centenaire on 12 and 13 October 2024

Peter Auto has been chosen to manage the car and motorbike grids for the UTAC Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome Festival du Centenaire.

 

Since its beginnings in 1924, the UTAC Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome has been the temple of numerous car, motorbike and bicycle records, countless races, thrilling championships and unforgettable encounters between drivers and fans. From classic racing cars to modern racing cars and motorbikes, the Autodrome has seen technology and the art of track driving evolve over the years. 

UTAC has decided to create a unique event not only to celebrate the centenary of its Autodrome, but also to present the evolution of mobility and the group's involvement in the mobility of tomorrow, thanks to the implementation of cutting-edge resources and technologies throughout the world.

 

Two days of festivities and celebrations for families

8 grids of pre- and post-war cars and motorbikes on track throughout the weekend - 4 sessions of 20 minutes per grid

A Best of Show concours d'élégance

Gatherings of classic car clubs

Exceptional entertainment for visitors of all ages: a Ferris wheel, an exhibition dedicated to electric cars, autograph sessions with famous drivers, etc.

PRE-WAR ROLLING GRIDS

 
 

The pre-war grids celebrate the history of the Autodrome between 1924 and 1939, with the celebrations of : 

  • The Automobile Club de France Grand Prix organized from 1925 to 1937
  • The 12 hours of Paris (only 3 editions with the first in 1938)
  • Paris Cups in 1939
  • The Bol d’Or in 1937,1938 and 1939

PRE-WAR CARS GRID 1924/1939

These were the first cars to race on the autodrome. Several brands were represented with different models: Delage, Mercedes, Bugatti Type 35, Talbot-Lago T150C, Alfa Romeo 6C 1900, Delahaye 135 CS, Maserati

PRE-WAR GRID DEDICATED TO BUGATTI

This grid will allow us to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bugatti Type 35 in collaboration with the Bugatti France club.  A lot of different models of Bugattis have raced in the Autodrome

POST-WAR ROLLING GRIDS

 
 

After the war, the Autodrome reopened in 1947 with an official ceremony with cars and motobikes races. The post-war grids celebrate the history of the Autodrome between 1947 and 1995, with the celebrations of: 

  • The AGACI cups (Grand prix de Paris, Coupe d’Automne, Coupes de Paris
  • The Union Sportive Automobile (USA) cups
  • The Ile de France cups
  • The Salon cups
  • The Trophée de France
  • The 1000 km of Paris

This grid brings together cars from the 50s which are very popular among vintage car. They represent the rise and popularization of the automobile in Europe.
