Dundee Museum of Transport issues call to help restore Maryfield Tram Depot – brick by brick
Published: 22/11/2023
Dundee Museum of Transport - a FBHVC member - has launched a crowdfunder campaign to fund replacement of weather-damaged bricks at Maryfield Tram Depot.
It says: "Your support will make a significant impact in shaping our future and creating a permanent home for Dundee Museum of Transport."
Essential repairs were made to weatherproof the roof at the tram depot earlier this year and it is now fundraising to restore around 2,500 bricks in the Victorian building to return it to its former glory by the end of 2024.
It's asking supporters, to pledge £10 or more to cover the costs of restoring each brick. All donations will directly benefit the restoration work on this significant historical landmark.
"But here’s the catch – it’s an all or nothing campaign and we have only four weeks to raise the necessary funds. We must raise £25,000 by 22nd December or lose all the pledges" adds the museum.
