DfT and DVSA Small trailer safety campaign
The DfT and DVSA are launching a safety campaign for users of small trailers.
The campaign has come about as a result of an approach from the parents of toddler Freddie Hussey who was killed by a trailer ‘decoupling’ in Bristol in January 2014. The campaign is also supported by our minister Andrew Jones and the Husseys’ constituency MP Karin Smyth.
We have created a short film which we intend to share on our YouTube channel and guidance to be published on gov.uk. The campaign will also be promoted via DVSA corporate Facebook and Twitter accounts with the hashtag #towsafe4Freddie.
This will point people to a slightly longer film with more detailed information about trailer towing.
We are looking at ways of promoting the campaign and are eager to gain the support of your organisation.
Are there any ways your organisation may be able to help by linking from your website to the film or from your corporate social media accounts #towsafe4Freddie.
If you’re interested in supporting the campaign, please either forward this onto your media team or send us their contact details.
