A surprise presentation was made to FBHVC Chairman David Whale, who was inducted into the Classic Motor Show’s inaugural ‘Hall of Fame’ as Industry Ambassador, on 8 November, just moments after the NEC show opened to the public.
The citation for the award “honours an individual who campaigns for the owners as well as the industry and strives to secure the future of classic motoring” and was awarded to David for "his campaigning for the historic vehicle movement."
Mike Brewer (pictured left) was announced as Community Ambassador which ‘Praises a person who represents the classic car community, who brings new people into the hobby and gives their support to clubs and organisations.’ His citation added: "In recognition for all he has done for the motoring community."
The presentations were made by Show Director Lee Masters (pictured, right). He said: “It’s always great to see the classic car community come together but this year was extra special.
"A personal highlight for me was honouring our Hall of Fame inductees, a very proud moment. Huge thanks to all our sponsors, traders, clubs, and visitors for celebrating our 40th anniversary with us.”
The show’s new Hall of Fame inducts worthy names into four categories – Classic Car, Industry Ambassador, Motoring Club, and Community Ambassador.
The Jaguar E-Type was the Classic Car inductee with Paul Crowther’s stunning Series 1 OTS on display.
The Jowett Car Club was inducted as the inaugural Motoring Club, a highly contested title.
