British & Japanese Classics Feature at Letchworth's Classic, Retro & Performance Car November Sale

Published: 16/11/2022

  • Letchworth Motor Auctions’ next Classic, Retro and Performance Sale will take place on Saturday 19th November 2022.
  • Around 60 classics will go under the hammer in the one day sale.
  • Potential buyers are welcome to attend both the preview and sale day.

British and Japanese classics are amongst the varied vehicles on offer for Letchworth Motor Auctions’ next sale for Classic, Retro and Performance cars on Saturday 19th November.

Fine British classics that include a 1963 Morris Mini Minor and 1991 Jaguar XJS HE with extensive history are sure to attract plenty of interest.

Following its restoration in 2001 the Mini was driven sparingly and has not been used for the past two years. Some light re-commissioning will be needed, along with a little attention to the driver and passenger seat, but an estimate of £9000-£11,000 is certain to tempt buyers.

The Jaguar XJS has covered an indicated 99,660 miles in the hands of six owners and presents very well in Arctic Blue Metallic with a Magnolia hide interior. In good condition throughout and boasting an extensive history file, the estimate of £4000-£6000 represents great value for this luxurious coupe.

Even more affordable with an estimate of £2500-£4500 is a 1975 Reliant Robin. These classic 3-wheelers have an enthusiastic following and this example is presented in original condition. Garaged for many years, it is reported to run and drive but will require recommissioning.

For those after something more sporting the 1979 Ford Capri 3.0 Ghia Automatic has had the same driver from new and has covered just 41,111 miles. Finished in Solar Gold Metallic, the bodywork requires some light attention but the interior presents very well and the car comes with a recent MOT. It carries an estimate of £9500-£12,500.

Continuing the sporting theme is a 2002 Mazda MX-5, a one-owner example that has covered just 1900 miles. It hasn’t been driven since 2012, but prior to the sale the car will be serviced by the original supplying dealer, Norton Way Mazda, and given a new set of tyres and a fresh MOT. Estimated at £7500-£10,000, this desirable modern classic will be ready for top-down motoring.

Managing Director Simon Morgan said: “We are very pleased to offer this varied range of classics in our second sale. Around 60 cars will be looking for new owners, and as these cars show there really will be something for every taste.”

Owners who would like to discuss entering their vehicle into the sale or a free valuation can contact Adam or Simon via email to sales@lmauctions.co.uk orby phoning               01462 480 499.

All of the vehicles are available to view from 9am until 5pm on Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th and Friday 18th November. On Saturday 19th November, vehicles can be viewed from 9.30am with the auction starting 12noon. Entry to the sale is charged at £5 per person which includes a vehicle catalogue.
