Blue Diamond Riley Services Limited’s Daniel Hunter To Attend Historic Vehicle Restoration Apprenticeship Course
Fivehead, Somerset 21 August 2015
Blue Diamond Riley Services Limited’s Daniel Hunter has been accepted into the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs’ historic vehicle restoration course starting in September.
The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs has been designed to be the only Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (OFQUAL) accredited modern apprenticeship course for vehicle restoration in England. The framework has been compiled in conjunction with the Institute of Motor Industry and will be supervised by an expert steering group comprised of established vehicle restorers, educationalists, and historic vehicle experts. More information can be found on the Banbury and Bicester College website.
Hunter joined the Blue Diamond team in August as an apprentice mechanic. Prior to Blue Diamond, he completed a two-year course in motorsport engineering at Askham Bryan College and was named the “Best Practical Student” for his restoration of a Lancia Fulvia. Hunter has also competed at VSCC hill climbs and sprints, most recently at Curborugh and Prescott.
“Daniel’s experience and industry knowledge has already made him a key addition to the Blue Diamond family,” said John Lomas, Managing Director of Blue Diamond. “His apprenticeship signals our commitment to investing in the future of the industry and our desire to continue to be one of the leading pre-war car restoration companies in the country.”
