Footman James Coffee & Chrome Event

Chateau Impney, Droitwich
Attendance more than doubled between the first and second meets, so capacity will once again be capped to 500 vehicles. The Footman James team opens the gates from 9am to a huge variety of interesting machinery, including vintage, classics, supercars, bikes and military, ensuring that there is something to interest everyone – including a free bacon sandwich on entry (a maximum of two per car). “We can’t wait to once again fill the iconic Chateau Impney venue with an extraordinarily diverse range of vehicles,” said David Bond, Footman James Managing Director. “We were staggered by the turn-out for our previous meetings, with visitors enjoying the all-marques policy where million-pound Aston Martins rub shoulders with early-80s hot hatch heroes. We are proud that Coffee & Chrome is rapidly becoming a ‘must attend’ date in enthusiasts’ diaries.” There is no segmentation at the meeting, which encourages a fascinating mix of vehicles, complemented by a small selection of traders and club displays. Due to previous high demand, Footman James encourages those interested in attending the meeting to secure their place via its website www.footmanjames.co.uk/blog/coffee-chrome-september-2019. Places are strictly offered on a first-come, first-served basis. For further information about Footman James, please contact 0333 207 6255 or visit footmanjames.co.uk.

Drive it Day - Windsor, Berkshire

Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG
10am – 3.30pm
DO YOU OWN A CLASSIC VEHICLE? DRIVE IT TO CASTLE VIEW WINDSOR ON ‘DRIVE IT DAY’ AND SUPPORT THE NSPCC • Sunday 24 April – coffee and cakes available from 10am – 3.30pm • Open to those participating in the national Drive It Day event run by the Federation of British Historical Vehicle Clubs • Coffee stop at Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG • To join in, drivers can purchase a ‘Drive It Day’ car plaque from just £10 at https://www.driveitday.co.uk/shop For those with a treasured classic car, National Drive It Day is one of the first opportunities after the long winter to get it out for a run, and Castle View is providing a ‘coffee stop’ for participants to build into their itinerary. Just a mile from the centre of Windsor, and easily accessed from the M4, Windsor Great Park, Legoland and Ascot, Castle View will be open to participants of the event, and those keen to look at some classic cars. “As great classic car enthusiasts ourselves, we thought it would be fun to host a coffee stop for anyone in the West London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey areas to get their old vehicles out. There’s no knowing what sort of vehicles will be here on the day, but we are hoping to have a London Routemaster bus, a Masey Ferguson tractor and an assortment of classic sports and saloon cars,” says Robin Hughes, CEO of Castle View. National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads, while also raising funds for the NSPCC’s Childline.

8.30am onwards
We have been invited to join our friends in the Southeast region for this year’s Drive It Day, for a drive through The Garden of England. The café is conveniently located just a few hundred metres from the Hildenborough/A225/B245 junction on the A21, itself only 5 miles from the M25 at junction 5 (Sevenoaks/M26). The Teal Café is rapidly earning itself a great reputation locally for serving high quality, locally sourced food. Leaving the Teal Café, we wend our way through the Kent countryside and head to the Romney Marsh Wartime Collection at Brenzett, arriving there in time for lunch and leaving plenty of time to enjoy everything the museum has to offer. RAF Brenzett opened in September 1943 with two Sommerfeld tracking runways and was originally home to the Spitfires of 122 Squadron. The museum itself is in what had formerly been the Women’s Land Army barracks and displays a variety of planes and other second world war memorabilia. The drive is around 45-50 miles on mostly single carriageway A and B roads. Brenzett is then an easy 11-mile A road drive from the M20 at Ashford. Boundless by CSMA – Classic Vehicle Group DRIVE IT DAY RUN IN MID AND SOUTH HAMPSHIRE Sunday 24 April 2022 This CVG run will follow a new route in Hampshire, passing through some of the best countryside in the South Downs National Park. Starting in mid Hampshire, convenient for A3 and A31, there will be a selection of breakfast options, and after a short briefing cars will head northwards through small towns and villages with interesting buildings and historical associations, before arriving at our first visit. This will be Bill Rawles Classic Cars, the restoration, servicing and bodywork specialist at Bishops Sutton, with emphasis on traditional standards and very high quality and performance. Tea, Coffee and workshop tours provided and opportunity to view projects in progress and for valuable discussion with classic experts! We will then turn southwards on country roads through the Meon Valley to Bishop’s Waltham, with its ruined medieval Bishop’s Palace, riverside, and open spaces, restaurants and coffee shops, before passing through the Forest of Bere and reaching our final destination. This will be Fort Nelson, a huge complex constructed in Victorian times to counter possible French invasion, but never actually used, except as an anti-aircraft establishment in World War II and in its present armoury collections role. The Fort looks out for miles across the City and Portsmouth Harbour, and the sea views will be breathtaking if the weather is kind to us. We will be able to park within the grounds, view the barracks, guardroom, tunnels and ramparts and the very extensive collections. Entry fee will be £42 per car and two occupants (£46 non-members), to include: Tulip Roadbook, FBHVS Childline Drive it Day Rally Plate, Tea, Coffee, Juice and Biscuits at the Start and at Bill Rawles, plus parking fee at the finish (entry to Fort Nelson is free). boundless by CSMA members and other visitors contact Chris Laver, email chris@whitesands82.co.uk, mobile 07377460415 for details and entry forms

DO YOU OWN A CLASSIC VEHICLE? DRIVE IT TO CASTLE VIEW WINDSOR ON ‘DRIVE IT DAY’ AND SUPPORT THE NSPCC • Sunday 23 April, 2023 - coffee and cakes available from 10am - 2.00pm • Open to those participating in the national Drive It Day event run by the Federation of British Historical Vehicle Clubs • Coffee stop at Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG For those with a treasured classic car, National Drive It Day is one of the first opportunities after the long winter to get it out for a run, and Castle View is providing a coffee stop for participants to build into their itinerary. Just a mile from the centre of Windsor and easily accessed from the M4, Windsor Great Park, Legoland and Ascot, Castle View will be open to participants of the event, and those keen to look at some classic cars. “As great classic car enthusiasts ourselves, we thought it would be fun to host a coffee stop for anyone in the West London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey areas to get their old vehicles out. There’s no knowing what sort of vehicles will be here on the day, but last year we had a wonderful assortment of over 25 classic sports and saloon cars,” says Robin Hughes, CEO of Castle View. There will be breakfast and lunch available from The Cabin on site and across the road The White Horse will be available for drinks and roast dinners.
