Footman James Coffee & Chrome Event
Chateau Impney, Droitwich
Attendance more than doubled between the first and second meets, so capacity will once again be capped to 500 vehicles. The Footman James team opens the gates from 9am to a huge variety of interesting machinery, including vintage, classics, supercars, bikes and military, ensuring that there is something to interest everyone – including a free bacon sandwich on entry (a maximum of two per car).
“We can’t wait to once again fill the iconic Chateau Impney venue with an extraordinarily diverse range of vehicles,” said David Bond, Footman James Managing Director. “We were staggered by the turn-out for our previous meetings, with visitors enjoying the all-marques policy where million-pound Aston Martins rub shoulders with early-80s hot hatch heroes. We are proud that Coffee & Chrome is rapidly becoming a ‘must attend’ date in enthusiasts’ diaries.”
There is no segmentation at the meeting, which encourages a fascinating mix of vehicles, complemented by a small selection of traders and club displays. Due to previous high demand, Footman James encourages those interested in attending the meeting to secure their place via its website www.footmanjames.co.uk/blog/coffee-chrome-september-2019. Places are strictly offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

At The Classic Motor Hub we invite you to join us on April 24th 11am-2pm in creating awareness of classic cars and supporting the historic vehicle movement to keep transport heritage on UK roads. Drive it Day - Windsor, Berkshire
Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG
10am – 3.30pm
DO YOU OWN A CLASSIC VEHICLE?
DRIVE IT TO CASTLE VIEW WINDSOR ON ‘DRIVE IT DAY’ AND SUPPORT THE NSPCC
• Sunday 24 April – coffee and cakes available from 10am – 3.30pm
• Open to those participating in the national Drive It Day event run by the Federation of British Historical Vehicle Clubs
• Coffee stop at Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG
• To join in, drivers can purchase a ‘Drive It Day’ car plaque from just £10 at https://www.driveitday.co.uk/shop
For those with a treasured classic car, National Drive It Day is one of the first opportunities after the long winter to get it out for a run, and Castle View is providing a ‘coffee stop’ for participants to build into their itinerary.
Just a mile from the centre of Windsor, and easily accessed from the M4, Windsor Great Park, Legoland and Ascot, Castle View will be open to participants of the event, and those keen to look at some classic cars.
“As great classic car enthusiasts ourselves, we thought it would be fun to host a coffee stop for anyone in the West London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey areas to get their old vehicles out. There’s no knowing what sort of vehicles will be here on the day, but we are hoping to have a London Routemaster bus, a Masey Ferguson tractor and an assortment of classic sports and saloon cars,” says Robin Hughes, CEO of Castle View.
National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads, while also raising funds for the NSPCC’s Childline.

Engine House Cafe, Padstow
9.15am
We will meet at The Engine House cafe for breakfast at 9.15 for a 10.15 departure which should get us to Padstow at around 11.15. I have reserved parking at Padstow, alongside the harbour and as usual this area will be coned off for us. If you do not want to eat a breakfast, then just turn up in time for the 10.15 departure. I have also arranged with the Padstow lifeboat committee to have their shop open on the day and for collecting buckets to be placed near our cars. If we could encourage people looking at our cars to put a little cash in the buckets this would be a big help.

Drive it Day - Gay Classic Car Group
start -Teal Café, London Road, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN15 0RS
8.30am onwards
We have been invited to join our friends in the Southeast region for this year’s Drive It Day, for a drive through The Garden of England.
The day starts with a breakfast meet at The Teal Café between Hildenborough and Sevenoaks. The café is conveniently located just a few hundred metres from the Hildenborough/A225/B245 junction on the A21, itself only 5 miles from the M25 at junction 5 (Sevenoaks/M26).
The Teal Café is rapidly earning itself a great reputation locally for serving high quality, locally sourced food.
Leaving the Teal Café, we wend our way through the Kent countryside and head to the Romney Marsh Wartime Collection at Brenzett, arriving there in time for lunch and leaving plenty of time to enjoy everything the museum has to offer.
RAF Brenzett opened in September 1943 with two Sommerfeld tracking runways and was originally home to the Spitfires of 122 Squadron. The museum itself is in what had formerly been the Women’s Land Army barracks and displays a variety of planes and other second world war memorabilia.
The drive is around 45-50 miles on mostly single carriageway A and B roads.
Brenzett is then an easy 11-mile A road drive from the M20 at Ashford.

8.30am to 5.30pm
This year’s new “Ride it Day” is taking place on Sunday 24/04/22, and The National Motorcycle Museum is supporting the event as offering ourselves as a “destination point”. All you have to do is purchase a “Ride It Plate” from www.driveitday.co.uk/shop and ride to the museum on the 24th of April to meet up with fellow participants. Not only this, but by taking part you will be supporting Childline, who are the event’s chosen charity.
Supporter Carl Fogarty stated “‘Last year people from the motorbike community came together and helped raise over £40,000 for the NSPCC’s Childline Service by taking part in the annual Drive It Day. For the first time ever, we now have our very own Ride It Day. This April, you can buy a Ride It Day Rally Plate for just £10.00 and ride out with friends, or join an organised event, and once again help support vulnerable children and young people across the UK. Visit the FBHVC website for more details on Drive It Day or head to www.driveitday.co.uk/shop today to order your rally plate and to sign up to take part this April. Drive it Day - Boundless by CSMA
HAMPSHIRE
9.00 AM
Boundless by CSMA – Classic Vehicle Group
DRIVE IT DAY RUN IN MID AND SOUTH HAMPSHIRE
Sunday 24 April 2022
This CVG run will follow a new route in Hampshire, passing through some of the best countryside in the South Downs National Park.
Starting in mid Hampshire, convenient for A3 and A31, there will be a selection of breakfast options, and after a short briefing cars will head northwards through small towns and villages with interesting buildings and historical associations, before arriving at our first visit.
This will be Bill Rawles Classic Cars, the restoration, servicing and bodywork specialist at Bishops Sutton, with emphasis on traditional standards and very high quality and performance. Tea, Coffee and workshop tours provided and opportunity to view projects in progress and for valuable discussion with classic experts!
We will then turn southwards on country roads through the Meon Valley to Bishop’s Waltham, with its ruined medieval Bishop’s Palace, riverside, and open spaces, restaurants and coffee shops, before passing through the Forest of Bere and reaching our final destination.
This will be Fort Nelson, a huge complex constructed in Victorian times to counter possible French invasion, but never actually used, except as an anti-aircraft establishment in World War II and in its present armoury collections role. The Fort looks out for miles across the City and Portsmouth Harbour, and the sea views will be breathtaking if the weather is kind to us. We will be able to park within the grounds, view the barracks, guardroom, tunnels and ramparts and the very extensive collections.
Entry fee will be £42 per car and two occupants (£46 non-members), to include: Tulip Roadbook, FBHVS Childline Drive it Day Rally Plate, Tea, Coffee, Juice and Biscuits at the Start and at Bill Rawles, plus parking fee at the finish (entry to Fort Nelson is free).

Drive it Day - Castle View Windsor
Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG
10am until 2pm
DO YOU OWN A CLASSIC VEHICLE?
DRIVE IT TO CASTLE VIEW WINDSOR ON ‘DRIVE IT DAY’ AND SUPPORT THE NSPCC
• Sunday 23 April, 2023 - coffee and cakes available from 10am - 2.00pm
• Open to those participating in the national Drive It Day event run by the Federation of British Historical Vehicle Clubs
• Coffee stop at Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG
For those with a treasured classic car, National Drive It Day is one of the first opportunities after the long winter to get it out for a run, and Castle View is providing a coffee stop for participants to build into their itinerary.
Just a mile from the centre of Windsor and easily accessed from the M4, Windsor Great Park, Legoland and Ascot, Castle View will be open to participants of the event, and those keen to look at some classic cars.
“As great classic car enthusiasts ourselves, we thought it would be fun to host a coffee stop for anyone in the West London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey areas to get their old vehicles out. There’s no knowing what sort of vehicles will be here on the day, but last year we had a wonderful assortment of over 25 classic sports and saloon cars,” says Robin Hughes, CEO of Castle View.

Drive It Day - Charity Vehicle Gathering & Tractor Road Run
Village Hall and Green, Bodle Street Green, East Sussex BN27 4UB
9.30-3pm
Bodle Street Green FBHVC Vehicle Gathering is Here!
Things are coming together well for the annual Bodle Street Green FBHVC ‘Drive It Day’ Charity Day Vehicle Gathering which in 2022 saw just on 250 vehicles and many people arrive in the centre of this sleepy village in East Sussex for a day of events by the village green and hall in 2022. This year David Vaughan has organised some eight model railway layouts and other delights to keep the younger element happy + grownups in the village hall which will be serving a free drink and a piece of cake to all exhibitors sponsored by Peter Love.
As well as veteran, vintage and classic cars, commercial vehicles, motor cycles, steam engines, stationary engines and models will also be here. There will be a road run for classic and vintage tractors starting at 10.15am and will return to the site at 1pm. The charity raffle will be drawn at 2.30pm which raised £1,600 for local charities in 2022. As always an entertaining commentary will be provided telling you all that’s going on with interviews with exhibitors and more. There will be breakfast and lunch available from The Cabin on site and across the road The White Horse will be available for drinks and roast dinners. Organiser Peter Love said he will be delighted to see you all here again and looked forward to an even larger entry than last year and hopes more money can be raised for various charities. He added: “Just turn up and book in!” Further details, tel: 01323 833125

Classic Vehicle Group
Drive it Day Run
In Hampshire
Sunday 23d April 2023
The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs’ Drive it Day events take place nationwide, providing the opportunity to dust off those cobwebs, and give our classics an early-season test run. The events will again be run in support of the NSPCC’s Childline service.
Starting at The Angel, at Privett on the A32 south of Alton, there will be a selection of breakfast options, and after a short briefing, cars will head through small towns and villages with interesting buildings and historical association, and beautiful countryside on the Hants/Surrey borders, before arriving at Bill Rawles Classic Cars for our first visit. Bill has many years hands-on experience with emphasis on traditional standards of excellence, and he and his son, Jack, are well known in the historic and specialised racing world, as well as being experts on more day to day aspects of owning a classic! Tea, coffee and workshop tours provided and the opportunity for discussion with Bill, Jack and / or his staff.
We will then turn southwards on country roads through the Meon Valley to Bishop’s Waltham, with its ruined medieval Bishop’s Palace, riverside, and open spaces, restaurants and coffee shops, before passing through rural landscapes towards the Hamble and glimpsing the Solent and Southampton Water as we reach the south coast, before crossing the Itchen Bridge and reaching our final destination of Solent Sky.
This is an exceptional museum close to Southampton City centre, and it highlights the impressive role that the area has played in the development of aviation, including Shorts Flying Boats flown and developed from Calshot nearby, as well as an excellent example of the iconic Spitfire also developed locally, and some 30 other impressive planes and displays. Car parking is available outside the museum.
Entry fee will be £49 per car and two occupants (£54 non members), to include: Tulip Roadbook, Childline Drive it Day Rally Plate, Tea, Coffee, Juice & Biscuits at the Start and at Bill Rawles, and entry to the museum. (Refreshments available at the finish but are not included in the entry fee).

The 1100 Club Spring Show, Bubble Car Museum near Boston
Bubble Car Museum, Boston, Lincolnshire PE22 7AW
10.00
The 1100 Club’s Spring Show for 2024 will take place at the Bubble Car Museum near Boston in Lincolnshire on Drive It Day, which is 21st April.
Entry to the rally field on the day is free, but visitors would be strongly encouraged to visit the museum, which costs just £4 per adult to enter, or £1 per child, and also offers a paper guidebook to tell you about the cars on show for an additional £1.
Inside the museum there are over fifty microcars on display, many in thought provoking dioramas and including examples of Bond, Isetta, Reliant, Frisky and Bamby, to name but a few. There is also a row of recreated shops for visitors to explore, memorabilia, a gift shop and a café, which is great for afternoon tea and also offers a few simple lunches. For anything more substantial, there is a cafe about a mile down the road called Langrick Station café.
We are hoping that there will be some Bubble Car rides available on the day, which cost £15 for a 15-20 minute spin - when else would you have the chance to be a passenger in something so tiny?
The full address of the museum for navigation is: The Bubblecar Museum, Clover Farm, Main Rd, Langrick, Boston, Lincolnshire, PE22 7AW.
Non-members in visiting classics are very welcome to come along and join us - the museum is open to the public on the day as normal so the more the merrier!

Drive it Day - Charity Coffee stop at Castle View, Windsor
Castle View, Helston Lane, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GG
Coffee and cakes available from 10am - 2.00pm
Just a mile from the centre of Windsor and easily accessed from the M4 and M25, Windsor Great Park, Legoland and Ascot, Castle View will be open to participants of the event, and those keen to view some beautiful classic cars.
“As great classic car enthusiasts ourselves, we thought it would be fun to host a coffee stop for anyone in the West London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey areas to get their old vehicles out. There’s no knowing what sort of vehicles will be here on the day, but last year we had a wonderful assortment of over 35 classic sports and saloon cars,” says Lisa Fisher, village manager of Castle View.
To join in, drivers can purchase a ‘Drive It Day’ car plaque from just £12.50 at www.driveitday.co.uk/shop and just turn up on the day, no pre-booking required.
It is also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads, while also raising funds for the NSPCC’s Childline.

Crofton Beam Engines, Drive-it Day meet, Wiltshire
Crofton, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 3DW
10:30 - 16:30
We will be happy to welcome any club or individual who wishes to come and see Crofton Beam Engines as part of the Drive-It-Day itinerary.
Crofton Beam Engines sit within a Grade I listed historic site, set in the East of Wiltshire. It is home to the oldest working beam engine in the world, still in its original location, still driven by steam and which can still perform its original task of keeping the Kennet and Avon canal supplied with water at its highest point. We have two engines which pump on “steaming days”.
Our site will be open on the 21st of April from 10.30 to 16.30 to welcome visitors to the Grade I listed engine house where you can see our Lancashire Boiler, several standing engines, and of course our beam engines. Although not in steam on that day, we can provide car parking, access to the site and we will have a refreshment area to tempt visitors to buy tea, coffee and cake.
Many of our volunteers are also classic car enthusiasts and they will have some of their cars on display at Crofton Beam Engines and be taking part in Drive It Day.
Access to the site is free for all. There is a charge for accessing the engine house but we are offering free access for drivers. See our website for more information about Crofton Beam Engines, a branch of The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust.

Drive it Day road run, Tamar region
Start at Free Car Park, Aysshton Gardens, Callington, PL17 7DW
9.30am for 10am start
The Drive it Day run this year will NOT be the run we have done for the last few years but will be a Treasure Hunt type run. This will be organised by Nick and Nan Palmer and will be a meet up at the FREE car park at Callington and finishing up at a venue for lunch as for a normal run. Nick informs me he has booked for up to 60 people for lunch. There will be rally plaques available from the FBHVC to help to raise funds for Childline who are the chosen charity of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs. If you can’t use or own a computer then Nick will purchase one for you if you can get your £12.50 to him first. Nick and Nans number is 01579-384384 to book the run and get your Rally Plate if you can’t use a computer.
Nick and Nan have purchased some Rally plates for Drive it Day they have a few so if you want one they come complete with two long cable ties to attach them to your car. So book a plate with them and you can pay for it and fit it on the day of the run.
PLEASE NOTE MEET AT 9.30 for 10.00 at the FREE car park Callington.
