The Secretary represented the FBHVC at the Royal Oak in Bishopstone once again, at the kind invitation of Tim Finney, the landlord, who is a classic car enthusiast himself. It was a record breaking day with well over 150 vehicles of all kinds attending, from at least 40 FBHVC member clubs. There were motorcycles, military, commercial, VW campers, a micro car, and cars of all ages, sizes and degrees of rarity. A great time was had by all, sitting in the sunshine enjoying the superb food and drink the pub has to offer.
Drive It Day is of course an annual event and so will be on Sunday 22 April 2012 – the nearest Sunday to 23 April.

We had a good display of cars in the square with numerous Austin Sevens, Tens, Sixes, and Twelves. BSA three and four wheelers, a couple of Wolseleys, one an art deco tour-de-force from 1937 and the other a 1903 veteran, and a very rare and very characterful Crescent. The big screen in the Square displayed a constant programme of archival Austin films and more recent videos from the VSCC Welsh Weekend and Ashover Trials.
Thank you to all that attended and made it a very enjoyable day out.
