As part of the Federation’s heritage activities it has been our ambition to link historic vehicles of all kinds to historic houses and gardens and thus promote our vehicles in a wider field which does tend to be dominated by built heritage. Last year, as a trial run, a number of Standards and Triumphs put on a very well received display at Baddesley Clinton in the West Midlands for Heritage Open Days. Heritage Open Days are promoted by the Heritage Alliance and this year will be held over the weekend of 9-12 September.
The Heritage Alliance website says: Heritage Open Days celebrates England’s architecture and culture by allowing visitors free access to interesting properties that are either not usually open, or would normally charge an entrance fee. Heritage Open Days also includes tours, events and activities that focus on local architecture and culture.
Any club or organisation that would like to be involved can find out more information from the website: http://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/ or follow the links on this website on the Heritage pages.
